Artist's Biography
I am a professional clarinet player (doubling alto & tenor sax). I was classically trained in my native United Kingdom and now reside mainly in South Carolina, USA although still visit and perform regularly in Great Britain. I now perform exclusively jazz; stylistically best described as \'mainstream\' - with influences from the swing era through the 1950\'s \'cool\' and \'bop\' idioms. I have worked in most situations that a professional musican finds himself, from small bars and clubs through to Londons Royal Albert Hall & The Royal Festival Hall by way of guest appearances and band leading over most of Europe, the Far East and Australia, corporate entertaining for world renowned clients, prestigious private functions (including for the British Royal Family and an official inaugral ball for President Obama in 2009). I have extensive experience in broadcasting both radio and television and have led jazz workshops and led masterclasses on numerous occasions. Much of my current work involves world wide travel making guest appearances, usually for seven to ten days at a time upon luxury cruise ships. I tend to specialise in smaller, more intimate cruise ships (such as \'Silversea\', \'Seabourn\' and \'Regent\'. I am proud to represent selmer instruments, which I have used for many years.
