Artist's Biography Danny Lerman's smooth jazz single "Gotcha!" from his upcoming CD "Meow, Baby", has been released to radio stations across the US, and is moving swiftly up the charts.
"Meow, Baby" is produced by Tal Bergman, who has also produced and worked with rock legends Rod Stewart and Billy Idol, smooth jazz trumpeter Chris Botti and Joe Zawinul. Additional tracks are produced by jazz legend Norman Connors, who has produced jazz artists Norman Brown, the late Phyllis Hyman, R&B/jazz vocalist Michael Henderson and pop/gospel guitar great Phil Upchurch.
Featured guest artists include: Howard Hewett, Hubert Laws, Paul Jackson Jr., Randy Brecker, Bobby Lisle, Fareed Haque, Christopher Howes, and Brian Hughes.
A Sugar Whiskey Records/Lightyear Entertianment Release, "Meow, Baby" is distributed by EMI and will be in stores in early January, coinciding with Lerman's US Tour. Danny will also be touring with Norman Connors in the New Year in conjunction with Norman's upcoming release.
As a popular opening act, Danny has shared stages with music legends Sergio Mendez and Herbie Hancock, as well as popular jazz acts Richard Elliott, Eric Merienthal and David Benoit.
The international flavor of saxophonist Danny Lerman's music is also reaching a global audience. Lerman recently played a world music concert in Breda, Holland with members of the Metropole Orchestra, the new chic jazz venue "The Nardis Jazz Club," in Istanbul, Turkey, "PastaJazz" in Mexico City, "Club Oui" in Guadalajara, Mexico, appearing with the Ornelas Brothers, as well as touring Cyprus with former Drifters vocalist Joseph Sabastian Cofie, and Turkish guitar phenom, Awesome John Gunduz.
Danny has also performed at the Standard Bank Jazz Festival in Capetown, South Africa, and at the famed jazz club, "Kippies" in Johannesburg, and in Durban with pop band Bongo Mafin (Sony). He has also appeared at Finland's Pori Jazz Festival for 4 consecutive years, as well as the Tallinn Jazz Festival in Estonia.
Lerman has toured Turkey countless times over the last four years, performing at the renowned Gramophone Club in Istanbul, at Neve Shalom, which was a special concert celebrating Gershwin's 100-year anniversary, Club Manhattan in Ankara, with appearances also in Bodrum, Turbuku and Marmaris, in Southern Turkey.
Lerman has performed with Alan Harris at Camelot in Tel-Aviv, Israel and with members of Extreme Voodooland (Sony) in Haifa. In Venezuela, Lerman has performed in Caracas, where his music has also been in radio rotation.
Lerman's previous CD, Danny's Island, reached the top 20 on the Contemporary Jazz charts of record industry publication Radio & Records, and the single, Take My Breath Away, reached the #1 position on the playlist of WGCI, Chicago's number one urban music station.
Danny's compositions are also featured in the movie soundtracks "Wedding Bell Blues," and "Kill Me Later." As a special treat, Take My Breath Away will be re-issued as a bonus track on "Meow, Baby".
In his hometown of South Bend, Indiana, Danny was the featured artist with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra performing songs from his vast repertoire; "Do You Feel?," "For Now You're Just A Dream" and "Flora's Tune."
Whether performing at New York's Sweet Basil's with The Spirit of Life Ensemble; Chicago's legendary Backroom, the Baked Potato in Los Angeles or the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA, where he shared the stage with Roger Smith of Tower of Power, Lerman has received critical acclaim for his uplifting performances.
